Marco Ferretti

Marco Ferretti grew up in a small town outside Bologna, where the family home always had at least one dog underfoot and a cat who believed the kitchen belonged to her. After decades working in animal care — first in Italy, then across Europe, and eventually settling abroad — he brings a perspective shaped by years of hands-on experience with animals of all temperaments, ages, and health histories. These days Marco shares his home with a stubborn but deeply lovable older Lagotto Romagnolo named Farro and writes about the practical realities of pet ownership with the kind of hard-won patience that only comes from having seen a lot go wrong — and right. He writes for owners who want straight answers, not reassuring vagueness, and he has a particular soft spot for senior pets, working breeds, and anyone who has ever Googled something at 2am because their dog was acting strange.
